Central America Project Development Manager
The Central America Project Development Manager will contribute to the acquisition of large scale PV system projects throughout Central America. Responsibilities will include sourcing projects, negotiating and closing contracts, and working with internal and external parties to assure the projects� bankability. The Central America Project Development Manager must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to create and develop projects primarily through their own independent activities including cold calls, existing business networks and other marketing strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop partnerships with local developers and EPCs
- Source bankable projects, >5MW, throughout Central America
- Lead contract negotiations and close transactions
- Assist with development of necessary financial models and assist with tax, financing, and regulatory related research and negotiations
- Work with internal colleagues to determine project financing
- Assist with identification of the most appropriate technical and material solutions to optimize system competitiveness
- Gather market intelligence and expand relationships with appropriate government, regulatory, and utility officials to understand best path for acquiring projects at NTP
Job Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of the full-cycle of utility-scale renewable power generation development and marketing
- Good knowledge of interconnection, permitting, real estate, state/federal regulation, utility procurement goals, politics, law and other issues that impact development of renewable energy projects
- 3 years+ Central America region solar industry experience, with existing relationships with local developer, EPC firms and utilities
- Bachelor�s degree required
- Understanding of finance/business concepts (NPV, ROI, IRR, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to manage and interface effectively with cross-functional employee groups
- Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands
- Ability to assess, solve, implement, and communicate outcomes of problems
- Fluent in Spanish
